A shot taken today of the Lady Chubtastic.....
totally not planned
but when I looked at it while uploading
it reminded me of one I had taken of Mr. D when
he was about the same age.

I know...their similarities are ridiculous.

Cookie cutter babies, thats me.

Sometimes as an artist you start to see the same things.
Images start to feel humdrum and look "samey samey" to you.
Thankfully I have wonderful photographer friends who come up with fun projects for us to help and inspire each other.
An amazing photog friend started The One Word project this week.
Each week we submit (to Flickr) a series of four photos based on the word of the week....
this week is sugar.



I hope that I would have thought of something with a bit of artistry.
BUT it just so happens that I am trying to lose that post-baby chub and I am missing my sugar!
So there it is.

I wanted to do powered sugar but instead I did this little number.
Cinnamon sugar on toast.
Delish.
Fills me with mounds of memories of my mom making me two slices of toast,
one with her homemade raspberry jam and the other with cinnamon sugar.
I tried it with Mr. Delicious but at the moment textures are a "YUCK!"
I hope one day that he loves it and it fills him with memories of warm toast and a mom who loves him so.

I know, I know....you think....GEESH!
This crazy lady....how long have we waited?!
Where are they....when are they coming?!
I have a few excuses but my perfectionist flaw is the main the culprit.
When you dream up these sort of things (& I have long had them a part of my dreams)
getting it right visually is just the start.
Pulling that dream from your mind & getting it conceptually right is well.....a little bit more tricky.
I have held on to a few, still finishing up others, touching up pieces, & scratching some all together but they are actually coming....ACTUALLY....yes FOR.REALS.
I can't reveal them in pieces, they must be done as a whole so for now...
here are a couple of the studio finals...I love the simplicity of them.

Oh this little lady....isn't she divine?
It was a horrible night last night with big brother sick so we all slept like POO!
Yet, I woke up to this delicious little treat sleeping soundly next to me. Milk mouth and all.
Ah she is bliss.

Can't wait to reveal some of the black & white's of the fairytale series and the upcoming release date.....so EXCITING!

There is something about cleansing out the old and putting in the new.

I finally finished SIX....(that is right....many a late night here) OH YES SIX new templates...they are fun, funky and different. Mosey on over when you get a sec.

So much is planned for this SPRING SESSION....I CANNOT WAIT!
I have FOUR projects to be working on....don't worry if you haven't heard from me and you expressed interest in taking part....it is all getting solidified!

I don't know about any other little boys out there but this guy gets bored pretty quick. He spent most of last week inside because mom had lots of work to do and this week is pretty manic as well.
I felt bad.
My job as mom trumps all so...stopped the work, I did.
Fingerpainting. Our first time.
Being the child of quite the neat freak, my guy was not so sure about sticking his hands in the "yucky."
He quickly joined in after seeing me make lots of handprints and quite a mess myself.
HE LOVED IT!
We did it for over an hour which is pretty remarkable in our world!
Quality time...where a curious mind and heart that needs to be filled with love is met.
It was a good day.

Of course...then there is pack-up time.
