The One Word this week......

'Nuff said!

I love LOVE photographing families again and again...
it is so great to see how everyone has grown up.
This fam is no exception.
They were part of the spring sessions a year ago.
Aren't they the cutest?

They are all so in love with each other...
another testament to the fact that "all you need is love!"

They play this cute game with each other where they say...
guess what?!
I LOVE YOU, as fast as they can.
They try to see who can say it faster.
It is the sweetest thing and I'm totally adopting it into my family!

And umm....magic mom fairies can I look like this mom please?
She is uber cute and very sweet...

They are so in love by the way.
With all of the garbage that is all over the media,
it's nice to know there are good things in the world!

Until the next shoot....

I will also be holding on April 9th,
Fairytale Studio day.
This is a chance to capture your child in their beloved costumes & dress-ups.
You will receive all of the images in aged black and white and also heirloom color.
$150 per child.

Seriously, frame this, hang it, treasure her forever!

I took some shots for the hubs back in Feb for Valentines.
I know, generic right?!
A photographer giving photographs...wow creative.
I'll admit, I was kind of at a loss for ideas and it was last minute.
It was so last minute that I was thinking why I am going to take a
photo of myself in the shape, or..ahem...not shape, I am in!
Like I said, I was a little desperate.
He could not love them more!
It didn't take me long to shoot them.
I put a little bit more make-up on than usual.
(you know like back in the day when you were getting ready
to go out with friends on a weekend?)
It was kind of fun...I totally admit!
I didn't want any body shots but got the gist of my face.

Then I was thinking gosh this would be fun to do for ALL the mamas out there!
something fun to do...
something different...
something for Facebook...
something for the hubby's office desk...
something for YOU....

So April 9th the Fine Art of the Piper comes out for all the mamas out there.
It will be $150 which includes your session and the images on a disc.
You are also welcome to do girlfriends session instead (up to 3).

If you are worried how you look...don't!
I'm superbly baby chubby (no really...at least 65lbs on the plus side!) but you wouldn't know it in these shots now would you?
I've got a bit of magic up my sleeve!

If you would like to schedule a mama's/girlfriends slot,

Another week of the One Word Project.
Being in Arizona saved me on this one!
I don't have many retro things but thankfully my mom does!

Seriously tell me that you never drank from a tupperware cup as a kid?!
SERIOUSLY.
Don't you remember those tops that went on them too?
We used to chew the heck out of those!
I love that my mom still has them.
She still has her first tupperware set too.
I swear, I think they were better back then then they are now!
Don't tell my mom but I am stealing those!

The muffin tin was my grandma's.
The thing is so bent up, it is a wonder how cupcakes come out so perfect?!
Grandma's magic I suppose.

Shrimp cocktails jars.
My mother is a LOVER of shrimp cocktails!
Way back when you could buy them at the grocery store in those cute little jars.
Cleverly, ever so recyclable, my dear mom saved them for our drinks.
It is so fun to watch nieces, nephews and now my own drink their juice and milk.
Warms the soul.

SOOOOO many things going on this week!
I thought I was going to miss this one but thankfully I got it in before the deadline!
The fairytale and nursery rhyme studio finals ARE coming....I promise....
that is NOT an empty one either.
I have just found myself in the middle of
packing up my house...
packing up bags for our trip....
saying goodbyes to friends....
finishing up work....
blah blah blah....
THEY ARE COMING!!
HANG. TIGHT.
For now, enjoy some "blue."

Another week with The One Word Project.
This week is doing my head in with packing for trips and packing up house.
It was nice to get some "light."

Light is the dawning of a new day with new possibilities.

Light is the "aha" moment.

Light is the light of your life.

Light is spiritual truth and knowledge.

What is light to you?
For all my photographer friends and followers....

I just read a good article that is something to check out.

Although before you go there, read with open eyes.

I agree with everything she said but bottom line is that artistry is subjective.

Which means, to each his own.

She spoke of textures and fad processing, both of which I use heavily and love but I appreciate her candor in the wrongful use of them. Most of my clients ask for my special post processing but it is important to know that getting the shot right Straight Out Of Camera is the best thing to do. Photoshop is all just bonus.

Anyways, check it out HERE....it's great and funny!

Be patient.
Studio finals and dates are coming!
